Do you need to know how to remove a tree stump from your yard?  If you’re a DIY handyman like me, you take pride in figuring out how to take care of things without having to call in a professional to fix your problem for you.  There are really only 5 ways to remove this eye sore from your property.  The method you choose can depend upon the type of tree and the size of the stump that needs removed.  Different trees have different root systems.  Oak trees have a tap root which goes straight down into the earth and pine trees have a wide flat root system that fans out.

Other businesses we recommend include Houston Personal Injury Attorney Sean Tracey, and centennial hair salons HaircolorXperts.

1) Power stump grinding

A stump grinder is a machine that uses rotating blades to mulch the stump into tiny pieces 6 to 12 inches below ground level.  These grinders can be the size of a lawn mower or as big as a truck.  You can rent a gas-powered stump grinder for $100-$200 a day.  For large stumps, you can hire an arborist to remove for you.  They normally charge per stump inch diameter.  A 24 inch diameter stump can set you back about $100.  Be sure to wear eye protection when operating machine and know what you are doing before you start.  If renting locally, you may need to have a vehicle with a trailer hitch to tow the grinder.  Most weight around 1000 pounds.
